How output behavior emerges from rendering, page description, queue settings, device capabilities, and physical media.

Output is a pipeline result
Printed output reflects the application’s page description, host rendering, queue and media metadata, transport, and the printer’s physical process. No single status label or driver name describes the entire result.
Rendering decisions
A renderer translates document content into a representation understood by the device. Page size, orientation, color model, margins, and other fields can be interpreted at different layers, so the source of each observed behavior matters.
Capability negotiation
A queue exposes options based on device declarations and selected package or protocol. If a capability is absent from the representation, an application may not be able to request it through that path even if the physical product has a related feature.
Describing observations
Use neutral terms such as rendered page, queue setting, device status, media state, or transport response. This page explains the vocabulary without diagnosing a printer, promising output quality, or giving corrective steps.

Does a driver alone determine printed output?
No. Output is a result of application content, host rendering, queue metadata, transport, device process, and media.
Can an unlisted capability still exist physically?
Possibly. A host representation can expose a narrower capability set than the device’s full physical feature set.
