Network and driver are different layers
A wireless or wired network path carries messages to a Canon endpoint, while a driver or class path represents print jobs and device capabilities. The network link does not by itself specify the renderer or the feature vocabulary.
Discovery and address
Discovery can advertise a service and provide an address, but an address is a location rather than a permanent model identity. A queue associates the endpoint with a selected protocol or package representation.
Canon protocol context
A standard print protocol can provide a shared interface; a Canon-specific path may add model configuration or status. The host sees only capabilities represented by the selected protocol and renderer.
Reference boundaries
Canon documentation defines product-specific network and package terms. This entry explains the relationships without giving network instructions, linking a package, or promising that every model option will be exposed.

Questions and answers
Is a Canon wireless driver responsible for all network behavior?
No. Wireless transport and printer rendering are separate layers, even when a vendor package contains components for both.
Does discovery establish driver compatibility?
No. It establishes an endpoint candidate; model, protocol, platform, package, and capabilities still define the print relationship.
