The distinction between Canon print packages, scanner acquisition interfaces, product identity, and host support.

Print and acquisition are separate
A Canon multifunction device can present one interface for print rendering and another for image acquisition. The two functions can share a model identity without sharing a package component, protocol, or host API.
Compatibility evidence
A scanner package relationship depends on exact product identity, platform, architecture, connection, acquisition interface, and declared component support. A Canon printer queue is not evidence that an acquisition interface is represented.
Host acquisition models
A host acquisition interface can provide a vocabulary for image devices. Canon can also expose product-specific components or application layers. Those interfaces should be named rather than summarized as “the printer driver.”
Reference scope
Canon documentation is the source for product terminology; this page uses neutral host-interface vocabulary to explain package boundaries and compatibility language, not scanning workflows or applications.
